Pakistani Passport Ranked Among Weakest Passports in the World for 2025

Pakistan has once again been categorized among the nations with the least powerful passports in the world, according to the Henley Passport Index for the first half of 2025.

This index ranks passports by the number of countries their holders can visit without a visa. Pakistan finds itself in the 103rd position, on par with Yemen. Holders of a Pakistani passport have visa-free access to only 33 countries.

Countries ranking slightly worse than Pakistan include Iraq, which is placed 104th, Syria at 105th, and Afghanistan, which holds the 106th spot. Just above Pakistan in the rankings are Somalia at 102nd, followed by Nepal, Palestine, and Bangladesh.

Looking at neighboring regions, India is ranked 85th, China is higher up at 60th, Iran is 96th, and Saudi Arabia has a much stronger position at 58th.

Leading the pack globally, Singapore boasts the most powerful passport with visa-free entry to 195 destinations. Japan is a close second with 193 countries. Other top-ranking countries include South Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Finland, each offering access to 192 destinations.

These insights highlight the global mobility divide where countries like Singapore and Japan provide their citizens extensive travel freedoms contrasted starkly by the limited options available to Pakistani passport holders.
